FRAME
The framework is manufactured from 60mm O/D (51mm I/D) heavy wall steam tube. A length of bright drawn tube is welded to the top and bottom of the vertical tube to house the spring unit mechanisms. The vertical and horizontal tubes are braced together with 65mm x 6mm mild steel flat with a gusset in the mitred corner. The frame is stitch welded to form a rigid structure. A separated clamping strip of 65mm x 6mm mild steel flat is used to clamp the flexible panels in position and is held in place with mild steel rivets and collars at 152mm centres.
NB. On doors under 2600 wide wide the horizontal tube is replaced by a 6mm thick triangular shaped mild steel gusset plate.

SPRING UNITS
The double action spring units are concealed within the top and bottom of the vertical tube. The coils are of high quality spring steel, and are held between best malleable iron bearings on 25mm dia. mild steel spindles. The spindles are welded to mild steel plates 335mm x 76mm x 6mm for fixing to the lintel, and 165mm x 76mm x 8mm for fixing the base plate to the floor. Each unit contains thrust and journal race bearings, and is provided with means of adjusting the spring tension to suit on site conditions without being overstressed. Two units are fitted to each door leaf.

PANELS
The Powerflex framework is designed to be fitted with any panel of any thickness/design as specified on separate panel leaflet. It is usually recommended that heavier duty panels are fitted such as 13mm thick rubber, 10mm thick clear PVC or combinations such as Clearflex.

FINISH
All metal work is rubbed down and painted one coat of grey hammer gloss. the flexible panels are given a coating of anti-static polish. All bearings are packed with grease. All suitable fixtures and fittings are supplied.

FRAME
The framework is manufactured from a high quality extruded aluminium section, that has smooth lines with no projections. The panels are held securely across the top within the horizontal section, and loosely down one side within the vertical section. This method of fitting allows the panel to expand and contract in the frame and eliminates most of the distortion which otherwise would occur. An adjustable bearing is fitted at the bottom of the vertical section to locate onto a hardened steel cone, secured to the floor. A length of bright drawn tube is secured within the top of the vertical section to house the spring unit mechanism.

SPRING UNIT
The double action spring unit is concealed within the top of the vertical tube. The coil is of high quality spring steel, and is held between best malleable iron bearings on a 19mm dia. mild steel spindle. The spindle is welded to a mild steel plate 200mm x 51mm x 6mm for fixing to the lintel. The tension of the coil can be adjusted in situ, to suit on site conditions without being overstressed. One unit is fitted to each door leaf.

DOOR PANELS
The Suplerflex framework is designed to accept panels up to 7mm thick.

FINISH
All metal work is rubbed down and painted one coat of grey hammer gloss. The flexible panels are given a coating of anti-static polish, and all bearings are packed with grease. All fixtures and fittings are supplied in a galvanised finish.

The framework is manufactured from 60mm O/D (51mm I/D) heavy wall steam tube, with a length of bright drawn tube welded to the top to house the spring unit mechanism. Along one side of the vertical tube is stitch welded a length of 65mm x 6mm mild steel flat, with a 6mm horizontal triangular shaped mild steel gusset plate of varying size (according to width of door). A separate clamping strip with gusset plate of identical size to that welded to the tube is used to clamp the flexible panel in position, and is held in place with mild steel rivets and collars at 152mm centres. An adjustable bearing is fitted at the bottom of the vertical tube to locate onto a hardened steel cone, secured to the floor.
NB. Doors over 2600mm wide. The triangular gusset plates are replaced by a 60mm O/D horizontal tube with 65mm x 6mm clamp strip braced by a corner gusset.
